In terms of versatility, the Hayter R48 VS ES Self-Propelled Petrol Recycling Lawn Mower is difficult to match. It has three modes of operation - rear-discharge, collection and recycling (sometimes called 'mulching'). Recycling-mode has two key advantages. Firstly, it saves time, as there is no need to break-off to empty the grassbag; and secondly, the nutrients that are returned to the grass will leave you with a noticeably more lush and verdant lawn.

The R48 VS ES has a large 48cm width-of-cut and a power-drive for the fast and effortless maintenance of the medium to large-sized lawn. The ground-speed can be varied infinitely between 1 and 4mph. This not only allows you to mow easily around tress and shrubs, but also means you can select the most appropriate pace for the conditions.

Versatility is further enhanced thanks to this mower's very wide-ranging cutting height. Quick and easy to adjust via a single lever, it can be set as high as 102mm - perfect if you've let the grass grow a little bit too long.

Other high-quality features include a quick-release handlebar, which is easy to adjust and saves space during storage; and a very large-capacity grassbag, which allows you to work for longer between emptying breaks (when in collection-mode).
