The MTD Cub Cadet CC-2740 Petrol Hobby Chainsaw is one of the lightest saws in its class, weighing a mere 4.1kg. This combines with low levels of vibration and ergonomically-designed front and rear-handles to make it comfortable-to-use and easy-to-control.

Highly economical, the Cub Cadet CC-2740 features MTD's Eco-Matic chain-oiling system, which delivers no oil when the engine is idling, steadily increasing the supply as the rpm rises. This minimises wastage, while ensuring that optimum performance is maintained across the rev-band.

Safety features include a specially designed bar and chain, which have been engineered to significantly reduce the likelihood of kick-back; and an automatic chain-brake, which stops the chain dead, should kick-back occur. A lateral chain-tensioner makes for easy adjustment.
